Project Description: In recognition of the Foundation’s support and financial contribution to the Auditory Science Laboratory and the Cochlear Implant Program now in place at SickKids, a plaque marking the MFO’s financial contribution of more than $1 million has been mounted on the wall outside the new science facility located within the hospital www.masonicfoundation.on.ca. DESCRIPTION

Project Description: The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation of Canada has developed its Learning Centre program based on the long and successful experience of the US Scottish Rite jurisdictions, where over 200 Centres are now in operation addressing only the remedial tutoring of children with dyslexia. Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and / or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. These difficulties typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities and the provision of effective classroom instruction. Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge (International Dyslexia Association) Shot with DVX100AB.

Project Description: Helping Hands Affinity was hosting a charity event Texas Hold ‘Em, a poker tournament for the Canadian Cancer Society. With over 150 players, Helping Hands Affinity succesfully reached its fundraising objectives. Mindpress not only filmed the event, but also produced the video for future fundraising objectives.
